BARET YOSHIDA
Resident Trainer - Jiu Jitsu


A multiple-time Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion who is on every critic in the world’s top five, Baret Yoshida has 17 Years Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Training and Coaching experience.  A Black Belt under the World Famous BJJ Competitor and MMA Fighter Egan Inoue from Grappling Unlimited in Hawaii, he also received his Purple Belt before that from Relson Gracie.

Baret trained for over 1 Year in intense Shooto-Style Training with Egan’s Brother and Purebred founder Enson “Yamato Damashii” Inoue in Japan leading to his Mixed Martial Arts Career.  He competed in Japan’s Shooto’s A-Class Division from 1999-2002.  In ’02 he was crowned the Shogun-IFC Featherweight World Champion.  Baret also fought in Pancrase Hybrid Wrestling in 2003.

Baret Yoshida is one of the most sought after Instructors in the world, his innovative Black Belt technique and intense style of teaching is second to none.  Baret is the founder of “Baret Submissions”, a Hybrid American blend of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Submission Wrestling and Freestyle Grappling.  An accomplished Author as well, Baret wrote a Biographical and Instructional Book entitled, “Principles in the Art of Submission” which is a very well respected work in the field of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Submission Grappling.  He also has a series of High Performance BJJ Instructional Videos distributed by FOKAI Industries.  Baret Yoshida is committed to teaching his students, from Beginner to World Champion his unparalleled System of Submission Grappling by structuring it so that Ones’ own development is based on your willingness to learn, aptitude, improvement and the ability to apply what you have learned.   Progress and Promotion is definitely NOT based on Money, Time Spent, or Politics.  You will move up the Ranks just like you deserve.  Baret is UND1SPUTED-North Park’s Resident Trainer which means he teaches over 20 Classes a Week with a set Schedule and is also available for Private Instruction and Seminars.
ROBERT "Jiu Jitsu Bob" GRIGG
Resident Trainer - Jiu Jitsu


Robert “The Spider” Grigg has over 7 years Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Training and Coaching. He is an established Brown Belt under world famous grappler Dean Lister. Bob has also trained under BJJ legendary Black Belts such as Ralph Gracie, Charles Gracie, and Rodrigo Medeiros. Bob has compiled a BJJ competition record of over 30 wins with only 9 losses over several years. He has won such prestigious grappling events like; the Ouano Invitational, Grapplers Quest, and Never Tap. Bob also placed second in the Pan-American Games, Machado’s Grappling Games, the Chris Brennan Invitational, and Mat Madness.

Bob has also decided to try his hand at MMA after 2 years of Muay Thai Kickboxing and over 1 year Western Boxing. He had a stellar showing and is sporting an undefeated record of 1-0. “The Spider” will stay active training our members in Jiu-Jitsu and competing himself as well. He is a tremendous teacher with great interpersonal skills and is also available for Private Instruction.
MICHAEL "Mad Scientist" PRATT
Resident Trainer – Wrestling


Michael Pratt is a member of the training staff at Undisputed focusing on wrestling and takedown defense. He has over 30 years of as an active competitor in Freestyle Wrestling and grew up in a strong Midwest wrestling culture close to Iowa City. He wrestled through high school and took 2nd in the State of Iowa in AAU Junior Freestyle competition at the age of 16. He went on to wrestle at University of Illinois before transferring to San Diego State University. When the SDSU Collegiate Wrestling program was scuttled, he became involved in the original organizing meetings of the San Diego Imperial County Kids Wrestling Association and has coached at various kids and high school programs in San Diego and the Bay Area. From 1996 through 2000 he participated in SDSU club program as a competitor, coach and alumni. He maintains close ties with the San Diego Wrestling Association and the San Diego/Imperial County Kids Wrestling Association and possesses a Bronze Coaches Card from USA Wrestling. Michael currently competes in No-Gi Submission Grappling and Professional Mixed Martial Arts.
Dave "The Ghost" Ventura
Boxing Instructor


Born and raised in Southeast San Diego, Dave has been involved in the “sweet science” of boxing for as the past sixteen years. He started to train in boxing at the age of twelve for self defense at Irish Spud Murphy’s boxing gym. Dave has been a member of the USA Amateur boxing Association since 1991. He currently is a registered Coach for the USA BA. During his amateur career he was a Golden Gloves Champion in 1993 and 1994. At a young age of nineteen Dave decided to make his favorite sport into a career, he started working at the Boxing Club boxing gym. For the past thirteen years he has been a boxing trainer, instructor, within the gyms of San Diego. Currently, Dave is the head boxing instructor and teaches morning, afternoon and evening classes. When you take this class, be aware, this is going to be a workout! By mixing in boxing drills, footwork, and controlled sparring with circuit training and cardiovascular regiments, you will burn ample amounts of calories and learn solid boxing techniques.
Scotty Dingas
Head Muay Thai Trainer


Scotty Dingas started Muay Thai 18years ago in Bangkok,Thailand. Working as a Crytologic Technician/Amphibious Warfare Specialist with Force/Radio recon Marine Corps special forces during operations in the Persian Gulf. Upon returning he was sent to train with the Navy Seals providing real time intelligence to support teams in the field. Conducting missions in Africa for three years, such as the genocidal civil war in Rwanda, as well as two separate tours in the Somalian civil war. Working jointly with Navy/Marine Corps and the United Nations trying to bring stability to a war torn nation.
During his time in the service he spent time in Thailand where he attended numerous Muay Thai training camps in Bangkok, Phuket, and Ko Samui under the tutelage of the “Phuket Tiger”, famous Kru Cheetah and two time Lumpini Stadium Champion Namsaknoi. He has fought in numerous stadiums in Thailand such as Patong and Raja stadium as well as the famous Bangla stadium. Upon returning to the United States he picked up his training at the International Kickboxing Accademy,Black Tiger Boxe gym and City Boxing. Scotty amassed an impressive amateur record and a first place finish in the International Amatuer Muay Thai Federation tournament. As a professional fighter in Thailand, Scotty recently won the WPMO World Championship after training with the “Deadly Kisser” Tor Sangtiennoi in Phathum Thani, Thailand. Received his title of Kru by the Muay Thai Council in Thailand and certified by the Kaewsamrit gym in Bangkok. Recently returning home from another trip to Thailand he is now our head Muay Thai instructor. Scotty has also trained Jiu Jitsu under Dean Lister, Mike Fowler, and Baret Yoshida.
Janice Jordan
Boxing, Muay Thai and Grappling


Janice is a native Californian and a long-time San Diego resident. Raised in a Zen Buddhist home, Janice advocates a life of balance and wellness. Janice has played team sports including soccer and trained for individual competition events such as karate, track and field (low hurdles), handball and wrestling. Janice has been training in contact sports since 1997 beginning with wrestling at San Diego State University. Janice was the only female freestyle wrestler for San Diego State's Wrestling Club in the late 90's competing in State and National Championships. After graduating with two Bachelor Degrees from San Diego State University, Janice moved to Boxing, Muay Thai and Grappling while attending Graduate School. Janice has trained with some of the best boxing, Muay Thai and MMA coaches in California including Brodie Farber, Kru Mark, Tony "Bazooka" DeLuca and Jon "War Machine" Koppenhaver.

Janice is a graduate from the Fitness Specialist Program at City College and is working towards her Associates Degree in Physical Fitness. She is certified through Agatsu Kettlebell as a Level 1 Kettlebell Instructor and is also working towards her ACE Certification. She has coached young girls in the sport of wrestling and currently offers one-on-ones to both female and male athletes.

Ivan Herrera
Boxing, Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu


Began boxing at a young age, coming from a boxing family. His biggest influence was his uncle Lenny "El Pichon" Valdez who was a pro boxer from Mexicali, Baja California. Ivan soon began his practice in Kempo Karate then pursuing Freestyle and Greco Roman wrestling for the San Diego Mighty Mites and Power Masters under Dale Siscon. Winning many tournaments.

Ivan wrestled all the way through college winning the Grossmont league Championship Title his senior year in high school placing in the top ranks in California.

Ivan began his mixed martial arts training during his high school career at the former Bull Pen gym under Tony Galindo, then discovering Undisputed North Park in January 2007 where he continued his training with Jon "WarMachine" Kopenhaver, and Manny "Hurricane" Hernandez.

Ivan also studied under Kru Scotty Dingas, Nico Cabrera and Frank "The Tank" Salgado, he then traveled and fought in Thailand in order to continue his growth as a fighter. Ivan currently trains with Herman "The Hitman" Terrado as his MMA trainer, Kru Scotty Dingas for Muay Thai, and Baret Yoshida for Jiu Jitsu. Ivan is currently active in his professional fighting career.

Ivan is an excellent instructor, known for his dedication and good work he does with beginners and children. He generously donates some of his spare time to the kid's competition team.
